Post war expansion

At the conclusion of the war Malvern Star returned to domestic production and began actively selling the new range of bikes that had been developed in 1939. The One, Two, Three, Four and Five Star series sold well in an expanding market.  As Kim Fawkes noted "This prosperity in business continued well after the war years, as the public depended on public transport and mobility.  Petrol was still rationed.  The Heath-Robinson gas producer was still a familiar sight on many cars and trucks... Malvern Star continued to expand.  Its bikes were a household word for years."

"Oppy" chose to retire from cycling soon after the war and took up a managerial role with the firm initially as Director  in charge of Personnel and Public Relations.  His place as the champion who chose a Malvern Star was taken by Sid Patterson and a new bread of Australian post war cycling heroes.
