| 1959 -1987Malvern Star fought the cycling decline of the 1960s with new models and fancy, fashionable glitz. It was to no avail as the declining market forced industry rationalisation, brands changed hands and joined as sales declined. Even Jeff Thomson could not rescue flagging sales. In 1987 Australian productions ceased and the Australian Bike succumbed to the Global Bike.
